retribution 3: maelstrom's revenge
Written by: Doug Molitor

Part 3 of 3. The Chief bails Zack and Ivy out of the Virginia prison. They can go if they finish some paperwork. Carmen finds Maelstrom's clue and they decide to do the paperwork later. The detectives chase Maelstrom to Paris where he steals Bizet's opera "Carmen". Maelstrom makes it look like Carmen stole it. Maelstrom then steals the Naval supply ship San Diego. Why does he do this? He wants Noah's Ark, the ultimate lost ship, and will do anything to get it. Zack and Ivy work with Carmen to clear her name and to stop Maelstrom.

I am still working on this...

Paris Opera House

Beautiful opera house where the Bizet score was stolen from. Want to view pictures of it? This "Phantom of the Opera" fansite has images of The Paris Opera House. Or you could visit Opéra National de Paris, the official site, and take a look at "Le grand escalier du Palais Garnier." They have a 806KB Quicktime v.3+ movie file of the grand staircase. Drag your mouse on the picture to get a 360 view. I don't usually deep link a site but my browser did not want to play this clip. I also could not find a link to this particular file anywhere. Pretty cool, check it out. The site is en français but has some English pages, things like how to make reservations. FYI... The opera "Carmen" is playing at l'Opéra Bastille Février/Mars 2000... better make your reservations now :-)

Bizet's Carmen
ret3_86.jpg When they get Maelstrom's clue, the Chief sings the "Toreador's Song" from Bizet's opera "Carmen". Well, he kinda sings it. I'm not exactly sure what he says. It is a French opera. The Toreador's Song
Toréador, en garde!
Toréador! Toréador!
Et songe bien, oui, songe en combattant
Qu'un œil noir te regarde
Et que l'amour t'attend,
Toréador! L'amour, l'amour t'attend!

ret3_44.jpg We get to hear a bit of the "Habanera" in this episode. The crew of the San Diego play the stolen Bizet score. Habanera
L'amour est un oiseau rebelle
Que nul ne peut apprivoiser,
Et c'est bien en vain qu'on l'appelle,
S'il lui convient de refuser.

Rien n'y fait, menace ou prière,
L'un parle bien, l'autre se tait;
Et c'est l'autre que je préfère,
Il n'a rien dit, mais il me plaît.

L'amour...
